How to Create Polygon Patterns in Adobe Illustrator



Geometric shapes we can makes through adobe illustrator by Polygon tool. This design we can use branding, packing, digital art and backgrounds and it’s make simple and easy tricks. Geometric pattern shapes have strong market to use such printing industry and online platform.


First you run the adobe illustrator software in your computer and take a new pages, now select polygon tool from toolbar and left click on mouse, come a popup bar to input radius size manually also sides. Put 10 cm in radius option and sides keep 6 for polygon tool, then rotated the polygon shape 90 degree angle.

Now take a line segment tool and draw a line top to down inside polygon and select the line segment tool to apply rotation 60 degree copy and again apply line segment tool rotation. After making three line select together and apply 30 degree rotation, also applied guides shortcut ( Crtl + 5 ). Copy the polygon object by pressing Alt + drag hold mouse left, move copied polygon corner edge of the main polygon and make sure copied three edge point attached with main polygon three point “below I attached images”.

Now again copy the copied polygon shape and move turn right side three point of main polygon. After moving select main polygon and make a new copy, moving down and keep three point to the main polygon. I have attached images what will be look like see and select last copied three polygon shape and make a new copy.

New three polygon together to moving top side and rotated together 180 degree and keep sample place point to point according to down side. After finishing all task you have to select all object and applied shape builder tool (shortcut Shift + M ) and remove unused object from the design.

Finally made a geometric pattern shape, now copy the design and move right side joint the each design edge. Also have other option like go to object tab menu bar and select pattern, click make pattern option.

I shared this pattern design file for download, anyone can directly download and freely use of this geometric pattern design. You can edit and resized, also color change because it’s design totally opened.
